About Karen

Blessings!

I am the author of 10 Principles for a Life Worth Living. I assist people in discovering their true nature and purpose, consciously creating a life worth living. The 10 Principles I have developed come from years of study, spiritual growth, and my private practice with clients as a Spiritual Practitioner.

I have found two commonalities in my work with clients:

1. Everyone, from time to time, needs to be reminded of their true nature, purpose and value.

2. We can create the  life we want to live by using powerful, consistent practices everyday AND moment to moment.

Whether you are seeking to expand your current practice, need a little tweak or starting completely new, please know this:  The 10 Principles are not your typical self help “do this like this and this will happen equation.” My 10 Principles give you a practical guide from the depths of life on discovering your TRUE NATURE, PURPOSE AND VALUE.  Showing up and using these 10 Principles become your way of life.

Bio

bioImageI am Karen Mills-Alston, Agape Licensed Spiritual Practitioner, author, speaker, visionary, and servant. I have been a part of new thought ageless wisdom traditions my entire life. As the daughter and granddaughter of Spiritual Practitioners, I have spent many years discovering the Truth of who I AM. I believe I have created an effective way to assist people through prayer, spiritual practices, affirmations, and counseling to discover this same Truth which is within us all.

In my early career as a lobbyist for the City of Los Angeles I gained experience influencing municipal legislation and later lobbying for the Airport Transport Association, Alaska Airlines (as Regional Government VP) and Southwest Airlines (as Regional Government VP),  I was able to use my political science degree and graduate work from USC as a knowledge base of order and systems, checks and balances, campaign finance, contract negotiation, administrative enforcement, expenditures, governing ordinances and fundraising activities.

That however was never enough. I didn’t like the idea of commerce without compassion and beyond that – the divisive nature of politics.

As the CFO and wife to one of the most well known motivators, John W. Alston, I learned about the importance of getting people excited about their lives and I loved seeing transformation in individuals who came to us seeking to uplift their lives.

I was married to John for 28 years before he passed and our original dreams and motivation to assist people continue as part of John’s legacy. In his honor, I have written  10 Principles forLife Worth Living where I use everything we learned assisting and training people, along with years of counseling my clients to understand their true nature and value.

I am a member of the Board of Trustees of the Agape International Spiritual Center, where I have been an active member for over 13 years. I have a daughter named Lindsay, who reminds me how easy it is to love.
